Sightings Spring 2024 – May 2024
The May cover is a Baltimore Oriole, observed in a tree near the W. 207th Street entrance to Inwood Hill Park on the morning of May 1, 2024. The view is from a cliff high above the tree on the easternmost hill.
Expect new migratory birds this month as well as increased activity along the shore of the Salt Marsh. This page is continuously updated throughout the month.
Updates:
• In the first week of May, two banded juvenile Bald Eagles were spotted by observers at the Salt Marsh. A Marsh Wren was observed in the Salt Marsh grasses.
Additional wildlife such as raccoons and chipmunks are also included in the monthly sightings.

Carolina Wrens and an Insect
Two Carolina Wrens were spotted together on the morning of May 6, 2024 next to the trail leading from the athletic fields to the Henry Hudson Bridge. One successfully snagged a bug for a meal.
